A video journalist was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday night in Chennai. The victim, Pradeep Kumar, worked as a cameraperson for a popular Telugu news channel and also drove for Rapido part-time. Kumar, who lived in Pondy Bazaar, was riding his motorcycle on the Maduravoyal-Tambaram elevated bypass when a speeding BMW struck him.

The collision caused Kumar to be thrown from his bike, and his body was discovered around 100 meters from the accident site on the lower level of the bypass. Police were alerted after commuters noticed the abandoned BMW at the scene. Upon arriving, officers found the damaged motorcycle but initially could not locate the rider. Further investigation led to the discovery of Kumar's body a short distance away.

The driver of the BMW, who was speeding at the time of the crash, fled the scene immediately. Authorities are now searching for the driver and have initiated an investigation into the incident. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence to identify the suspect. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are calling for any witnesses to come forward with information.
