Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has an intriguing story in his rise to such a position of power. He had very humble beginnings. He was born to a farming family in a remote village named  “Siddaramanahundi” near T. Narasimhapura in the Mysore district. He did not attend school until the age of 10. He however went ahead to do a B.Sc and LLB from the University of Mysore. He was a junior under a lawyer when his calibre for politics was identified. When he won from Bharatiya Lok Dal in 1983, it was a surprise to many. 

This story will now be made into a feature film. Helmed by Sathya Ratnam of “Kathalekhana” fame and produced by Haider Peer hailing from Gangavathi, Karnataka. The role of Chief Minister, would be played by none other than “Makkal Selvan” Vijay Sethupathi, who has won a National Film Award for the best supporting actor for his role as “Manickam” in Super Deluxe helmed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. He will portray Siddaramaiah during his days as a young lawyer and beyond. The casting for who would portray Siddaramaiah during his childhood and adolescent days is yet to be finalised. The film is tentatively titled “Leader Ramaiah” and will be released in 5 languages including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. The film would be released in 2 parts.
