Sources say the character did not align with Massey’s expectations and he wanted to focus on projects that allowed him to explore more complex roles. His decision has now led the makers to begin the hunt for a new antagonist.

The makers are now looking for a replacement and are said to be in talks with Aditya Roy Kapur and Vijay Deverakonda to take over the antagonist’s role. However, nothing has been officially confirmed and there are reports suggesting Deverakonda may not accept the offer as well.

Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar and starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, is expected to begin shooting in January 2026. Following Kiara Advani’s departure reportedly due to her pregnancy, Kriti Sanon is being considered for the female lead.

With two key exits and casting still in progress, the film’s development seems to be facing some delays. Still fans remain curious about the new line-up for this next installment in the Don franchise with Ranveer Singh stepping into a role once made iconic by Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
