Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star has been arrested over a suspicion of involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. Darshan is reported to have irregular eating habits in the police lockup.

The case has evidently left a profound impact on Darshan’s son Vinish Thoogudeepa. Vinish has been in a state of distress ever since the details of the case emerged. Vinish apparently left the house in which he was staying with Darshan and headed to his grandparents’ house. On June 16th, he had posted a story on the social media platform Instagram to wish Darshan ‘Happy Father’s Day.’ On the day of the arrest, he received many hate messages on social media platforms. “Thank you all for all the bad comments and offensive language towards my father and not considering that I am a 15 year old with feelings, and even during this hard time when my mom and dad required support cursing at me won’t change that you everyone (sic),” Vinish had remarked in light of the messages he received. 

The arrest may also potentially have an impact on Darshan’s marriage with Vijayalakshmi. This also has the potential to cause trauma to Vinish. Proper guidance and counselling is required to deal with adolescents facing turbulent times.
