KL Rahul and Kohli recollected their partnership against Australia
KL Rahul recounted his "test cricket" approach to the game
It is a bit awkward for me to be playing in front of a pavilion named after me: Kohli
In a video released by the BCCI, cricketers KL Rahul and Virat Kohli had a chat after their successful partnership helped India through a tough phase in their clash against Australia. KL Rahul stressed on his approach being that of playing test cricket in the first 10 overs hoping to have a dent on the momentum gained by Australia. Later on he asked Kohli about his feelings on playing in his home ground in their encounter against Afghanistan.
Kohli talked about the gratefulness he feels on looking back at things and comparing it how it was when it all started. “That’s a stadium where I have grown up playing cricket. H-group, cricket, Ranji trophy and then India as well. That memory is very fresh in your mind. When you go back to those moments, you can still feel it. That is where it all started. That’s where the selectors called me for the first time. It’s always special to go back and play in the Arun Jaitley stadium. It was the Kotla stadium back then. When we started, the Ranji team would practise in the A ground and we would practise in the B grounds. It is a bit awkward for me to be playing in front of a pavilion named after me. But it is great, it is something that I thought would never happen in my career,” Kohli remarked.
