On Monday, Kohli took to Instagram to announce the end of his illustrious 14-year-long Test career, during which he amassed 9230 runs and notched up 30 centuries in the game's longest format. His retirement came just four days after Rohit Sharma also announced his exit from Test cricket, marking a significant shift in the leadership and legacy of India’s red-ball team.

Kohli was seen leaving Mumbai Airport shortly after his announcement, and headed straight to Vrindavan — a spiritual destination he and Anushka have visited on previous occasions. The couple last visited Premanand Ji Maharaj’s ashram earlier this year after India’s 1-3 Test series loss to Australia. Kohli has also made spiritual pilgrimages in the past, including a visit to Neem Karoli Baba’s ashram in Kainchi Dham.

While Kohli has stepped away from Test cricket, he remains a crucial part of India’s white-ball squads, and his spiritual visit reflects a period of reflection and transition for the cricketing icon.
