Sukriti Saha, apparently a fashion design graduate from INIFD Kolkata, took to twitter to post about what she claims to be gross inconsistencies in the investigation of the death of her sister, Riti Saha. 16-year-old Riti Saha, apparently a student in the Aakash Byju’s coaching centre in Visakhapatnam. She is said to have fallen from the 3rd floor of her hostel on July 14th. She eventually succumbed to the injuries.

Sukriti Saha has maintained that the police have not conducted due diligence in the investigations. She does not concur with them over the characterization of the death as a suicide. She claims that the CCTV footage obtained from a neighbouring quarters suggests that Riti was wearing a t-shirt and a dark pair of shorts whereas the footage from the hostel shows a girl going up the stairs in a calf length nighty with an ipad in her hand. She further stated that after the family received the body in Kolkata on July 18th, they have not been contacted by the police or the institute regarding any developments pertaining to the case.

The family has approached the court which after hearing the case has appointed a court commissioner to collect evidence pertaining to the case. Sukriti stated that the commissioner had herself commented that the case had been mishandled.
