Renowned filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has announced the release of his highly anticipated film, ‘The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter', divided into two parts. The first installment, titled The Bengal Chapter, is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2025, making it one of next year’s major Independence Day releases.
Agnihotri, known for his work on The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War, shared the news through his social media accounts today. "MARK YOUR CALENDAR: August 15, 2025," he wrote. "After years of exhaustive research, the story of The Delhi Files is too powerful to be contained in one part. We are excited to bring you The Bengal Chapter."

The film, initially envisioned as a single narrative, was split into two parts due to its depth. Agnihotri’s announcement included a poster featuring a child raising a hand toward the national emblem, symbolizing the film’s historical theme.
The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter will feature an ensemble cast including Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Puneet Issar, and others. This film marks Agnihotri's third entry in his series of research-based films focusing on significant historical events that impacted India.
Speaking about Mithun Chakraborty's recent Dadasaheb Phalke Award win, Agnihotri praised the veteran actor's contributions to Indian cinema, noting his remarkable performances and deep understanding of the medium.
