Vodafone Idea (Vi) officially launched its 5G services in Bengaluru on June 11, 2025, joining cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Patna, and Chandigarh in the telecom provider’s growing 5G network. The rollout aligns with Vi's goal to cover all 17 priority circles where it has secured spectrum, by August 2025.

Residents in Bengaluru with 5G-enabled smartphones can now access high-speed internet, with Vi offering unlimited 5G data on plans beginning at ₹299 as part of an introductory promotion. The service promises enhanced user experiences, including faster downloads, seamless streaming, improved online gaming, HD video calls, and efficient cloud access.

To bolster service quality, Vi has collaborated with Samsung to roll out energy-efficient infrastructure. The company has also deployed AI-powered Self-Organising Networks (SON) for smart network optimisation.

Alongside the 5G launch, Vi has strengthened its 4G network across Karnataka. Enhancements include improved indoor coverage using the 900 MHz band at around 3,000 sites, doubled capacity on 1,800+ sites using the 2100 MHz band, and upgrades on more than 4,100 sites using the 1800 MHz band. These upgrades have collectively boosted the network’s overall capacity by 46% since March 2024.

With these developments, Vi aims to offer users in Karnataka a significantly enhanced digital experience. Customers can learn more by visiting myvi.in/5g-network.
