Wagner chief Prigozhin feared dead

An Embraer Legacy which was flying between Moscow and St Petersburg crashed in the Tver region along the way. It was a private aircraft with 10 people on board. All 10 on board are feared dead. 

Russia released a list of the seven passengers who were on the flight including Prigozhin, his right-hand man Dmitry Utkin, Sergei Propustin, Yevgeny Makaryan, Alexander Totmin, Valery Chekalov and Nikolai Matuseyev.

The crew members were identified as Captain Alexei Levshin, co-pilot Rustam Karimov and flight attendant Kristina Raspopova.

Grey Zone, a broadcast forum on Telegram known for having a pro- Wagner stance reported that the jet was shot at by agents of the Russian armed forces. However so far, no evidence has been provided to back up this claim. 

Yevgeny Progzhin had initiated a rebellion among the ranks of the Russian military against Russian President, Vladmir Putin. Wagner’s faction had gained control of the city of Rostov-on-Don and were headed towards Moscow when the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko had brokered a deal between the 2 offering residence to Prigozhin. 

Prigozhin had made his first public appearance after the incident just a week prior to the plane crash. There was a lack of clarity with regard to where he was located during this period.
