The war of words between Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar and the Minister of  Heavy Industries and Steel H.D Kumaraswamy has intensified. The 2 of them are aiming to secure the Channapatna Vidhana Sabha constituency after it was vacated by H.D Kumaraswamy.

D.K Shivakumar conducted a Jana Spandana program to gauge the psyche of the voters in Channapatna. H.D Kumaraswamy attacked D.K Shivakumar during a Janata Darshan program in Mandya. He claimed that D.K Shivakumar had a role in the alleged irregularities in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). D.K Shivakumar responded to these allegations. “Some people cannot sleep if they do not take my name. Their brain stops working,” he said. H.D Kumaraswamy responded to this taunt by stating that it’s not him who is mad but D.K Shivakumar. He qualified his statement by alleging that the pursuit of power has in fact made him mad.

H.D Kumaraswamy also alleged that government officials were instructed to not be present for his Janata Darshan program. D.K Shivakumar responded to this by highlighting that the officials have acted as per protocol. H.D Kumaraswamy produced photos from the Jana Spandana program conducted by former Indian National Congress (INC) MP DK Suresh wherein government officials were present. He further added that his politics is not determined by protocols put into motion by the State Government.
