In what comes as a shocking revelation, CP Yogeshwar, a former Karnataka MLA, has made an indirect revelation to Darshan contesting from the Channapatna constituency in the byelection to be held as HD Kumaraswamy, who won the LS 2024 election as MP, is now a union minister.

The former MLA said, “The surprise candidate that the Congress wanted to field is behind bars now. He is caught in a case related to murder. Whether he contests or not, we are ready for the elections.”

The apparent jibe was at Darshan, who is allegedly involved in a murder case related to Renukaswamy hailing from Chitradurga.

In all likelihood, CP Yogeshwar will contest the byelection as a coalition candidate from the JD(S)-BJP combine.

It was earlier thought that Congress leader DK Shivakumar, discarded by the electorate from the Bengaluru Rural constituency would be fielded by the Congress. But he has expressed his uninterest in the elections.

The Darshan case

Darshan and his accomplices have been arrested. They are now in police custody and are participating in an inquest being conducted by the cops. Pavitra Gowda, Darshan, A1 and A2 respectively were irked at the incendiary remark sent by Kumaraswamy to her in relation to her interference in Darshan’s marital life.
