  • International Consumer Day will build trust between customers and business: Modi

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had made a speech in the B-20 (Business 20) Summit that was held in Delhi on August 27th. The event was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The speech was in line with the initiatives being taken up after India has been granted the presidency of the G-20.
Modi highlighted that an International Consumers Day could be celebrated each year to promote more consumer centric models of business. “When we talk about consumer rights, should not we also be mindful of consumer care, as it will automatically take care of many consumer rights issues? We should definitely think about a system for ‘International Consumer Care Day’. This will help in strengthening the trust between businesses and consumers,” he said in his speech.
“Business can transform potential into prosperity, obstacles into opportunities, aspirations into achievements. Whether they are small or big, global or local, business can ensure progress for everyone,” he stated. “The future of global growth depends on the future of business,” he added. He had also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence and the ethical usage of it for the growth of business. He also talked about taking the unequal distribution of materials across regions into account while strategizing.
