Cyber cell is trying to ensure that videos don't become viral
B.N Jagadeesh will be special prosecutor
An expansive team has been formed for the investigation pertaining to the leaked videos supposedly belonging to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan Prajwal Revanna. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has conducted enquiry among several people in relation to the incident. Reports suggest that a notice has been served to former Public Works Department (PWD) Minister HD Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna demanding their presence for the investigation. The Women and Child Welfare Department has also written a letter to the SIT with regard to this case. A request for curbing the online distribution of the videos has been made.
Special Prosecutor B.N Jagadeesh has been included by the Karnataka Government to fasttrack the proceedings in this case. He will represent the Government in the Districts Sessions Court. The Karnataka Home Department’s Under Secretary provided this update.
The pen drive has now reached the Cyber Cell. The cyber cell is trying to ensure that the videos do not become viral. The source of the leakage will also be inspected. The prevention of more videos surfacing is one of the priorities of the cyber cell.
Reports suggest that a minor might have also been the target of Prajwal’s inappropriate conduct. The Women and Child Welfare Department has requested the SIT to update them if their investigation confirms such reports.
