Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to present his 16th state budget on March 7 at Vidhana Soudha. Expectations are high as the Congress-led government aims to balance welfare schemes with infrastructure development across Karnataka. A significant portion of the budget is likely to focus on Bengaluru, addressing its persistent civic issues.
Among the key proposals under discussion are major infrastructure projects, including tunnel roads and a skydeck for the city. To reduce congestion, the government is also advancing plans for parallel urban centers, such as KWIN City and SWIFT City, which are expected to receive substantial funding.
Bengaluru’s metro expansion remains a crucial concern, with financial allocations anticipated for projects like the Blue Line and ongoing extensions. As daily commuters grapple with severe traffic congestion and inadequate road conditions, the government is under pressure to introduce effective mobility solutions.
With urban development and governance reforms at the forefront, the upcoming budget is expected to outline a roadmap for Bengaluru’s future while addressing statewide economic priorities.
