Rahul Dravid to take up mentorship role?

Who will succeed as Team India's coach?

Why doesn't Dravid want to continue as coach?

It’s almost confirmed that India cricket coach Rahul Dravid has put in his papers. Under his aegis, Team India reached the finals of the Cricket World Cup 2023, but lost to the mighty Australians.

Reports suggest that he has also apprised the BCCI bosses about his decision not to continue in the coveted post. Now, it is being speculated that the former India captain will take up the role of a mentor or a coach of an IPL franchisee.

In this regard, he is also in talks with the IPL owners.

Dravid, sources tell NewsFirst Prime, yearns to spend more time with his family and friends and has expressed his keen desire to stay in Bangalore. He is also willing to contribute to Indian cricket by taking up another role in the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

If Rahul does take up a role with an IPL franchisee, he would be required to render services only during the IPL tournament, which lasts for 40-50 days.

New coach for Team India

If Rahul’s plans do fructify, it means the BCCI honchos will have their task cut out in searching for a new coach. And the foremost name that is doing the rounds is that of VVS Laxman, another Indian cricketing legend whose contributions to the game can’t be ignored.
