When SRK demanded just Rs 6 lakh for an ad for which Aamir demanded Rs 25 lakh!

Did you know that Aamir Khan once charged Rs 25 lakh for a commercial? As strange as it may sound, when Prahlad Kakkar, a director of advertisements approached Shah Rukh Khan for the same, he sought just Rs 6 lakh! 

We are talking of 1988 when Aamir Khan had become a household name after the success of his movie ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’.  

Initially, Aamir Khan wasn’t very interested in the ad because he feared reputation damage. At that point in time, there was a belief that such actors who did not get good offers in the movie world resorted to the ad world. 

However, Kakkar convinced him that his career would only get a boost after he shot the ad. Though Aamir Khan did the shoot, he did not go back one bit on his fee. 

Interestingly, though Shah Rukh Khan’s quote was much lesser, Kakkar ended up shooting with Aamir himself. 

Also, Aishwarya Rai was also part of the cast. Such was her impressive performance that many dialled the ad director and sought to know more about her. Incidentally, this role also catapulted her to fame and she became a household name too!
