CM Siddaramaiah has announced that he would accept the recommendations of the Kantharaj Committee. This has resulted in calculated moves from cabinet ministers within the state government led by the Indian National Congress (INC). In the Convention for Awareness of Oppressed Castes held in Chitradurga, CM Siddaramaiah had promised that a discussion about the Kantharaj Committee’s report will take place in the cabinet. The consequences of accepting the report ahead of the Lok Sabha election is being analysed. It is important to see which of the ministers are against making the report’s findings public, which ministers are in support of it and which of the ministers are neutral.
K.H Muniyappa, K.J George, Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge, Zameer Ahmed Khan, H.C Mahadevappa, K.N Rajanna, R.B Thimmapura, Shivaraj Thangadagi, Mankala Vaidya, Rahim Khan, Santosh Lad, Byrathi Suresh, Madhu Bangarappa, Nagendra and Dinesh Gundu Rao are the ministers who are in support of the release of the Kantharaj Report.
D.K Shivakumar, Krishna Byre Gowda, K.Venkatesh, M.C Sudhakar, Sharan Prakash Patil and Chaluvarayaswamy are the ministers belonging to the Vokkaliga community who are in opposition to this. H.K Patil, M.B Patil, Eshwar Khandre, Sharanabasappa Darshanapura, Shivanand Patil, S.S Mallikarjun, Sharan Prakash Patil and Lakshmi Habbalkar are the cabinet ministers from the Lingayat community who are opposed to this.
S.S Bosaraju, Ramalinga Reddy and M.C Sudhakar are neutral in this regard.
