Till now, as many as 7 cops have been suspended for the preferential treatment. Angered over the entire episode that can potentially besmirch the government, the CM has taken it seriously, thereby jumping into action to mend damages.

Darshan was seen smoking with his fellow prisoners inside the jail. Visuals of him making phone calls to friends have also gone viral. While a prison is for reformation, such carefree attitude exhibited by Darshan and the way in which he has access to cigarettes, mobile phones has made the public wonder with dismay.

Darshan and the other accused are alleged to have kidnapped and murdered Renukaswamy at a shed in Bengaluru’s RR Nagar. The victim had allegedly sent lewd messages to Pavitra Gowda, A1 in the crime. The entire plan was orchestrated by Darshan with a view to teaching him a lesson. After the plan was executed, Darshan had fled to Mysuru, where he was arrested in a gym.

Presently, all the accused are in judicial custody. The chargesheet would be filed in September.
