In a tragic incident at the Ballari Government Hospital, a woman named Muskan passed away just after delivering a baby girl, marking the fifth such maternal death in recent days. Her death has raised alarm over the quality of care provided at the hospital, prompting Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to intervene and seek detailed reports.

Muskan's husband, who is now left to raise their newborn daughter alone, expressed his shock and grief. He revealed that his wife had undergone a cesarean section, and while doctors cited kidney issues as the cause of her deteriorating health, he claimed that no such issues were mentioned by a doctor at a private hospital she had consulted earlier. After her condition worsened post-delivery, the family requested her transfer to a private facility, but the move was not made in time.
The grieving husband, who had already spent Rs 6.5 lakh on Muskan's treatment, is still left with an outstanding bill of Rs 1.5 lakh. The emotional toll of this loss is compounded by financial strain, as he now faces the daunting task of raising his child without the support of his wife.
This incident has sparked public concern over maternal health and the adequacy of hospital care, with calls for an investigation into the deaths at the government facility.
