According to police sources, Chaitanya was in a relationship with Vijay Kumar, a car driver from a nearby village. The couple reportedly had a disagreement after Chaitanya uploaded reels from a recent street photoshoot to her Instagram status. Vijay objected to the posts and allegedly came to confront her around 10 p.m.
Though Chaitanya was at home, the door to her room remained locked during the altercation. Witnesses reported hearing a loud argument near her window. Vijay is also said to have contacted one of Chaitanya's relatives during the episode.
Tragically, a few hours after the confrontation, Chaitanya was found dead, having died by hanging. A case has been registered at the Tumkur Rural Police Station, with family members alleging that Vijay Kumar’s actions led to her death.
Police have detained Vijay for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the rising emotional toll in young relationships and the influence of social media on personal conflicts.
