Renowned wrestler Vinesh Phogat extended her unwavering support to the ongoing farmers’ protest by joining them at the Shambhu border on Saturday. The occasion marked the 200th day of the farmers’ agitation, which has seen a large gathering of protesters demanding a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops, among other key issues.

Phogat, a prominent sports figure and vocal supporter of the farmers’ movement, was warmly welcomed with garlands by the farmers. Addressing the crowd, she expressed her deep admiration for their resilience, acknowledging their long and steadfast fight for their rights. Despite the challenges, she noted that their energy and determination remain undiminished.

Phogat, who proudly identifies with her farming roots, assured the protesters of her full support, stating, “I am lucky that I was born in a farmer’s family. I want to tell you that your daughter is with you. We have to stand for our rights because nobody else will come for us.” She urged the government to heed the farmers’ demands, expressing disappointment over the prolonged neglect of their concerns.

Her presence and powerful words served as a morale boost for the farmers, reinforcing the broader movement’s call for justice and their resolve to continue until their demands are met.
