The highly anticipated film Toxic, starring Yash and directed by National Award-winning director Geetu Mohandas, is set to have its release date rescheduled. Originally slated to hit theaters on April 10, 2025, the film's makers have decided to push back the release to accommodate an extensive shoot schedule and ensure a world-class production.
Pinkvilla initially reported that following the monumental success of the KGF franchise, Yash would collaborate with Geetu Mohandas on a high-content, gangster-based action film. The ensemble cast, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Shruti Haasan, and Huma Qureshi, was announced to much fanfare, with filming beginning in the summer of 2024.

A source close to the project disclosed that the delay is due to the challenges of coordinating the schedules of the star-studded cast and the ambitious scope of the film. "Toxic is a big-budget feature film, and the makers are taking their time to mount it on the right scale. Aligning all the dates of the talents and then shooting together has resulted in the schedule stretching beyond the planned timeline," the source revealed.
Yash and the Toxic team are committed to meeting the high expectations set during the film's announcement. With over 100 days of shooting and extensive visual effects work, the decision to postpone the release was made to ensure the film meets its lofty standards. The new release date will be announced soon, considering all logistical and post-production requirements.
Meanwhile, the production team is gearing up for a major sequence set to be filmed in early August on colossal sets erected in Bengaluru. Nayanthara is cast as Yash's sister, while the roles of Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Shruti Haasan remain undisclosed. Huma Qureshi will portray the antagonist in this highly anticipated project.
