The much-anticipated Yellow Line of Bengaluru's Namma Metro has moved one step closer to launch, with the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) concluding a three-day safety inspection that ended on July 24.

The inspection spanned the RV Road to Bommasandra stretch and focused on multiple technical aspects, including train acceleration, deceleration at curves, platform alignment, and the efficiency of the signaling systems. Over the course of the inspection, CMRS officials visited multiple stations and concluded their assessment at the Baiyappanahalli Operations Control Centre.
Officials have stated that the final inspection report will be ready within ten days. This report will also include a safety clearance certificate if all parameters are met.
Once the certificate is issued, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will seek permission from the Karnataka state government. The state, in coordination with the central government, will then decide on the official launch date of the Yellow Line.
Operational details, including schedules and station functioning, are being kept under wraps for now and will only be made public after the CMRS report is finalized.
