MP from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya has promised that all the pending work along the yellow line of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) would be completed by February 2024. “Surya, who inspected the Yellow Line on October 4, also assured Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd that he would request the Union government to provide the necessary Visas and governmental clearances for Chinese engineers assisting with the project,” a statement from Tejasvi Surya’s office mentioned.

The MP held a video conference with BMRCL MD Anjum Parvez, Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd MD Umesh Chowdhary and other officials to discuss the roadmap to speeding up the tasks needed to achieve this promise. “During the video conference, CRRC confirmed that it would supply two car bodies for metro trains this month, which are expected to arrive in Bengaluru by November. While a CRRC representative indicated that the company might require additional time to supply two more car bodies, Surya intervened and requested them to expedite the delivery by the end of November,” the statement mentioned.

“While the first two trains will be manufactured in China, Titagarh will produce five more trains starting in January, which will be deployed for the Yellow Line. To kickstart their domestic manufacturing, they require car bodies from the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation  (CRRC),” the statement added.
