Prominent entrepreneur and civic activist Mohandas Pai has launched a scathing attack on Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, criticizing his handling of Bengaluru’s infrastructure. Pai highlighted the government’s failure to complete major projects on time, arguing that while big infrastructure plans were announced, they remained stalled or delayed. He urged the minister to focus on immediate improvements, such as ensuring clean and walkable footpaths, procuring 5,000 new electric buses to enhance public transport, and expediting metro construction by pushing Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to work round the clock.

He also slammed the government’s decision to hike metro fares, which reportedly led to a drop of one lakh daily commuters, calling it an example of poor management and lack of oversight. “You are our strong Minister—please help us!” Pai appealed, urging Shivakumar to take urgent corrective measures.

Bengaluru has been grappling with severe traffic congestion, poor public transport, and delayed infrastructure projects, leading to mounting public frustration. Pai’s remarks reflect growing discontent among residents, who are demanding swift action to improve daily urban mobility and quality of life in the city.
