  • The person has to collect 4 cards and his turn gets skipped

UNO is a popular card game for those who are bored with the standard French-suited playing cards that consists of 52 cards. However there was one point of confusion with regard to the rules across the world.

UNO has now provided an official clarification regarding the rules surrounding scenarios when a draw 4 is issued by a player.

“If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped. You can’t put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6. We know you’ve tried it,” UNO’s official twitter has mentioned.

The confusion arose in the first place because the rules of UNO stipulates that the card a player stacks must be identical to that which the previous player has stacked either in colour or number. Therefore people assumed that a +2 card and a +4 card bear similarity.

This clarification also has other implications. A +4 card cannot be deflected by issuing another +4 either. The person has to collect 4 cards and his turn gets skipped. However, wherever is next in turn can issue a +4 card. The rule also applies vice versa. A +2 card cannot be deflected by missing a +4 card. The same rules and conditions are applicable in both these scenarios.
