Youngster suspected to be trapped under debris of hill collapse in Shirur as he hasn’t returned home in 5 days

The number of people who are reported to be missing or dead due to the collapse of a hill in the Shirur National Highway in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka has been rising everyday. A youngster hailing from the Gangekolla region near Gokarna is reported to be missing. 

The youngster has been identified as Lokesh. Lokesh’s mother has approached the police over this development. She stated that her son hasn’t returned home for a period of 5 days.

Lokesh is reported to have been staying at the hotel in question during the day of the collapse. A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus driver believed to have seen him at the spot. The incident took place within a few minutes of the bus having left the spot. 

The disappearance of Lokesh Naik has created widespread panic. The panic is more so visible among close friends and relatives of Lokesh Naik. Further clarity on the situation can only be obtained when the debris on the site of the tragedy is eventually cleared. The officials involved in the rescue operations are leaving no stone unturned, both in the literal and figurative sense to save precious lives.
