Following the deadly attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people lost their lives, the Indian Army retaliated decisively with ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeting Pakistan-based terrorists. While this bold military action was hailed as a strong response, it has now sparked a trend among youth, particularly in Bengaluru, to get ‘Operation Sindoor’ tattoos or henna designs. Young people are flocking to tattoo and mehndi shops, eager to get inked with the name of the operation as a sign of patriotism and solidarity.

This trend has gained so much popularity that local tattoo artists are witnessing a surge in demand for ‘Operation Sindoor’ tattoos. Notably, Neethu Vanjakshi, a well-known tattoo artist and Bigg Boss celebrity, spoke about the growing excitement among the youth to commemorate the military operation in such a permanent way. She emphasized that these tattoos serve as a constant reminder of the nation’s courage and strength. Many young individuals are choosing to get these tattoos on their arms as a symbol of their patriotism, with the designs making an immediate impact on anyone who sees them.

While the trend is largely seen as a way to celebrate the success of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ it has raised questions about how such significant military actions are being turned into a fashion statement. The tattoo craze has become a way for young people to connect with national pride, while also marking their part in a larger narrative of India's defense efforts.
