Authorities began investigating Malhotra after she was found attending diplomatic events at the Pakistan High Commission and interacting closely with a now-expelled official suspected of espionage. Her content featured warm exchanges with that official, as well as multiple videos shot in Pakistan that are now being analyzed for deeper implications.
It is believed that her introduction to intelligence operatives took place during her trip to Pakistan in 2023. After returning to India, she allegedly kept in touch with these contacts using private messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Snapchat.
A particularly concerning video showed her being welcomed by a senior official and praised for her growing digital presence. She is seen actively engaging with guests and describing the experience in glowing terms. These details have now taken on a new dimension in light of the accusations.
Her digital footprint, including posts and videos focusing on her time in Lahore and visits to prominent locations in Pakistan, has prompted officials to question the true nature of her travels and relationships.
Currently in police remand, Malhotra’s case has reignited discussions about the risks associated with influencers being used as potential assets in intelligence operations.
