A photo of Minister for Housing, Minority Welfare & Wakf Govt Of Karnataka State & MLA for Chamrajpet Constituency, B.Z Zameer Ahmed Khan celebrating Raksha Bandhan had become controversial. Zameer Ahmed had also made a post wishing people on the occasion.
“Raksha Bandhan isn't just about a thread, it's about the unbreakable ties of love and care between brothers and sisters.Wishing everyone a heartwarming Raksha Bandhan,” the post stated.
Zameer Ahmed was sporting a Tilak (Red Vermillion paste) in the photo. He had posed for a photo with the person who tied a Rakhi to him. This was however not well received by all his followers.
“I thought you are a good leader but you made me sad putting tika on forehead really bad,” a user commented.
“Raajkiyadha amalinalli dharmadalli nishedhawada kaaryagalannu maadabaradhu (For the sake of politics, one should not indulge in activities that are prohibited by one’s religion),” another user commented.
The trolls pointed out that there is no space for sporting a Tilak in the religion of Islam. Others however came in his defence stating that there is no compulsion in religion. A user pointed out that she was told that accepting Prasada and Kumkuma was against the Christian code of conduct and that she steered clear of such intrusive people.
