"I'm going to ruin 18-20 years of my life babysitting this child and then if luck serves me right, the reverse will happen at some point. What if he says 'scr** you' at 18 and leave anyway,” he noted.
Kamath articulated his belief that the notion of leaving behind a legacy is overrated, emphasizing the transient nature of human existence. He dismissed the idea of seeking posthumous recognition, asserting that true fulfillment lies in leading a meaningful life and treating others with kindness.
Last year, Kamath made headlines as the youngest Indian to join 'The Giving Pledge,' committing a significant portion of his wealth to philanthropic endeavors. Inspired by Bengaluru-based entrepreneurs like Nandan Nilekani, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, and Azim Premji, Kamath expressed admiration for their philanthropic contributions.
Reflecting on his philanthropic journey, Kamath highlighted the camaraderie among Bangalorean entrepreneurs, noting their regular gatherings for dinners and travels. His remarks shed light on the growing trend of philanthropy among India's business elite, underscoring the importance of giving back to society.
