In an interview with a private agency, PM Modi revealed that Congress leader and former Gujarat chief minister Amarsinh Chaudhary had leveled this allegation against him. PM Modi recalled countering the accusation at a public gathering, where he asked the people whether they preferred a chief minister who allegedly embezzled ₹ 250 crore or one who possessed 250 pairs of clothes.
