In a shocking incident, a youngster who fell into the trap of online gaming committed suicide. The incident came to light from the Shirdi Nagar region of Hubballi. The student who was residing in a dormitory hanged himself to death by the fan in his room. 

The deceased individual has been identified as 21-year-old Rakesh Sringeri Jambaladinni. He was a 6th semester student at the BVB Engineering College.

Reports indicate that Rakesh was thoroughly invested in online gaming everyday. It appears that he lost money through online gaming. This is said to have been the trigger resulting in his suicide. Police Commissioner Shashikumar paid a visit to the dormitory in which the tragic incident unfolded. The room wherein the incident occurred was inspected. 

An official in the dormitory admitted Rakesh to a hospital upon being made aware of the incident. Rakesh however died on the way to the hospital. The police are conducting a detailed investigation of the incident.
