People from Karnataka who went on a trekking expedition have faced distress. 9 people have died as a result of this trekking expedition. The Minister for Revenue in Karnataka, Krishna Byregowda met with the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand. He procured relevant information.
Krishna Byregowda requested for aerial assistance to get the dead bodies back to Bengaluru. The Uttarakhand government gave a nod to this request. This process will take place on June 6th.
The bodies will be shifted to Dehradun by 12 PM. The bodies will be shifted to Bengaluru after the postmortem. Krishna Byregowda stated that further details in this regard will emerge after another meeting with the Chief Secretary.
The team which set off for a rescue operation identified 4 bodies on the morning of June 6th. The 4 bodies were transported to Uttarkashi through an aeroplane. Padmanabh K.P, Venkatesh Prasad K, Anitha Rangappa and Padmini Hegde have been identified as the deceased individuals. 5 other bodies were recovered on June 5th. They have been identified as Sindhu Vakelam, Asha Sudhakar, Sujatha Manguruwadi, Vinayak Manguruwadi and Chitra Pranith. 5 individuals were rescued on June 6th. 8 others were rescued on June 5th.
