Mixed Martial Arts fighter Chungreng Koren, also referred to as the Indian Rhino, won a bout at the Matrix Fight Night. He secured the Interim Bantamweight title. In an address after a bout, he highlighted the volatile situation in Manipur. “I want to say something. This is my humble request. I am Chungreng. Honourable Prime Minister Modi, there is violence unfolding in Manipur. It has been almost one year. People are dying on a daily basis. Many people are living in relief camps.
#MatrixFightNight14 pic.twitter.com/gNOvsFmuLp

Opposition party leaders have used this to attack the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “If Manipur was also part of Modi ka Parivar (Modi’s family), every citizen of Manipur might not have been crying today,” National President of the Indian Youth Congress Srinivas BV stated through a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). There has not been any response from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the request of Chungreng so far.
