The Treamis World School located near Hulimangala in the Anekal taluk of the Bengaluru Rural district was subject to a bomb threat. The bomb threat was sent via email. This put the school administration on alert. The bomb threat was received on the official email-id of the school on the afternoon of 29th March. The email stated that the bomb was placed beneath the desk in one of the rooms in the school.
The Hebbagodi Police visited the school upon receiving information about the bomb threat. A bomb detection squad accompanied by a dog squad visited the location. The entire school premises was thoroughly examined. No suspicious item was discovered. This was a relief for the members of the school administration who were in a state of panic upon having received the bomb threat.
This is not an isolated incident but rather a trend with many schools having received such threats over the last few months. The email ids are unable to be traced down giving immunity to pranksters and resulting in a wastage of government resources. One can only hope that the modus operandi of these offenders is uncovered so that this nuisance can come to an end.
