Prabhas will play role of an honest police officer
The film is still in its writing stage
It should be worldwide or pan-India: Sandeep
After the box office success of Animal, director Sandeep Vanga Reddy will now work with Tollywood star Prabhas in ‘Spirit.’ Prabhas would be playing the role of an honest police officer. The film is still in its writing stage and is expected to go on floors in December.
Sandeep recently spoke with Galatta Plus and expressed confidence in the film earning Rs 150 crore on its opening day. “I think because of the kind of budget they are putting, I feel the producer is safe. With Prabhas and my combination along with satellite and digital rights, we can recover our budget there itself. If everything goes well with the teaser, trailer and songs pre-release and whatever we do to grab the audience’s attention, opening day would be ₹150 crore. It’s a trade calculation. It should be worldwide or pan-India. Easily it could be ₹150 crore in one day for a film like this if the material is good.” he said.
He also threw light on how writing a script knowing the actor who’ll play the role is different from writing a script as such. “I think when you don’t know the process is different and when you know, very involuntarily the writing goes into the grip of the actor. Because, you have seen their work, you know what they can do best. Few episodes, you would write for them. Few scenes you would write for the gallery and a few scenes you would write for the actor,” Sandeep mentioned.
