Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as Challenging Star was arrested along with 13 others over alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. The 14 suspects are being interrogated by the police in order to procure information relevant to the case. 

The court has granted the police with the custody of the accused for a period of 6 days. The police carried out a spot inspection of the location wherein Renukaswamy is alleged to have been tortured apart from other procedures. The police have also procured statements from each of the suspects in this case.

The police have also taken a statement from Darshan in this regard. “I learnt from Pavan that Renukasway sent obscene messages to Pavithra. I instructed Raghavendra to bring Renukaswamy to Bengaluru. On the evening of 8th June, I met Reunkaswamy at a shed in RR Nagar. I told him that if he were to continue sending messages to Pavithra, it won’t end well for him. I gave him a warning. I also gave him some money and asked him to have some food before leaving for Chitradurga. I am not involved in this murder. I have no relation to this case,” Darshan’s statement mentioned.
