    Fmr cricketer David Johnson dies by suicide

    He was 53 years old and had health issues

    He had represented Indian in two tests

In an unfortunate incident, former Indian cricketer David Johnson has died after he met with an accident. 

He is reported to have fallen off the fourth floor of the building he was staying in. He was 53 years old and had been suffering for some time. He had played 2 tests for India.

David Johnson, born on October 16, 1971. He is  renowned for his exceptional speed as a fast-medium bowler and his prowess as a lower-order batsman. Despite a brief international career, Johnson left a lasting impact on Indian cricket history.

Johnson debuted in international cricket in 1996, participating in two Test matches. During these appearances, he claimed three wickets, demonstrating his potential on the global stage. However, it was his incredible speed that distinguished him. 

Johnson delivered a stunning 157.8 km/h ball to dismiss Australia’s Michael Slater during their 1996 tour of India, making him the fastest bowler India has ever produced.

Despite his raw talent and remarkable pace, Johnson’s international career was short-lived. His lack of control hampered his effectiveness, ultimately curtailing his time in the spotlight. Nevertheless, his brief yet impactful stint remains a significant chapter in Indian cricket history.
