Participants in the rally pedaled through key city thoroughfares
Protest drew attention to rising fuel costs and its impact on common man
During the rally, police detained numerous BJP leaders and supporters
The Karnataka BJP, spearheaded by its state president B.Y. Vijayendra, orchestrated a cycle protest rally in Bengaluru today to voice opposition against the recent fuel price hike implemented by the state government. This demonstration forms part of a broader dissent against the economic policies championed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s administration.
Participants in the rally pedaled through key city thoroughfares, drawing attention to the rising fuel costs and its impact on the common man. The protest, which witnessed substantial participation from BJP leaders and party workers, aimed to highlight what they termed as the “anti-people” policies of the state government.
During the rally, police detained numerous BJP leaders and supporters, an action that has since ignited a wave of criticism from the party and its followers. The BJP has accused the Siddaramaiah government of misusing its authority to stifle dissent and has fervently called for an immediate rollback of the fuel price hike.

In a statement, B.Y. Vijayendra condemned the detentions and reiterated the party’s demand for more responsible economic governance. “The government must listen to the plight of the people and take steps to alleviate their burden, not increase it,” he asserted.
As tensions escalate, the BJP vows to continue its fight against the fuel price hike, pledging more protests until their demands are addressed.
