Questions regarding whether the evidence against Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star regarding his involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy is strong enough to secure a conviction have arisen. Apart from the technical evidence, the statements of witnesses also have weightage.

A security guard in the shed wherein the physical assault of Renukaswamy  is alleged to have taken place has come forward to present his statement. His statement has been recorded as per Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). The police are also believed to have gotten hold of another witness.

There were reportedly attempts to cover up the  crime after Renukaswamy’s death. Initially there was an attempt to change the SP of the police station wherein the interrogation was taking place. After attempts to exert pressure from an administrative angle failed, efforts to bribe the witnesses are apparently underway. A remand application by the police in the court made note of this attempt. The police are also on the lookout for the individual attempting to bribe the witnesses.

The police have also uncovered that another individual had accompanied accused Pradosh to the shed on several occasions. He remains unidentified at the moment. The police informed the court about this. He is supposedly only known to Pradosh. Whether the person is an actor or a VIP remains to be seen.
