Police to file chargesheet in Renukaswamy murder case shortly; 180 pieces of evidence including 50 CCTV visuals collected

The proactive approach of the police is an important factor for the progress made in the investigation pertaining to Renukaswamy’s murder. The complexity of the case increased on account of influential people being involved in it. The accused in this case are currently stationed at the Parappana Agrahara prison after the court granted the police judicial custody until July 4th.  

The police have now initiated the process of filing a chargesheet in this case. The chargesheet is expected to be filed within the next 3 months. More than 180 pieces of crucial evidence has been collected in this regard. This even includes Darshan’s belt which was supposedly used for physically assaulting Renukaswamy. More than 50 CCTV visuals have been collected. This traces the path from the shed to the drain in Summanahalli wherein the body was recovered. 

Reports indicate that 8 eye witnesses have been identified by the police including the security guard of the shed wherein the alleged assault took place. His statement has been recorded in accordance with Section 164 of the CrPC.

Renukaswmay’s parents met CM Siddaramaiah. They expressed their grief over his murder and demanded justice. Siddaramaiah had earlier emphasised that special treatment must not be meted out to the accused due to their stature in society.
