    Government hasn’t forgotten development: Parameshwara

The alleged irregularities and corruption in the transactions of the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Development Board and the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) have been making news. Amidst this, the Karnataka Government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been faced with an allegation of putting more emphasis on the investigation of the murder of Renukaswamy to deflect attention from these issues.

This accusation has been made by leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “MUDA that is worth crores of rupees has come under the control of thieves. People who have lost their land in the 69th year have filed complaints after contemplation. A large chunk of land has been forfeited. The scam would make Charles Sobraj’s scam look miniscule in comparison,” Member of Legislative Council (MLC) C.T Ravi stated.

The Home Minister of Karnataka G. Parameshwara responded to these allegations. He affirmed that investigation is taking place in all cases and that those guilty will face punishment. “The case pertaining to the irregularities in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Development Board is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). We are also conducting an investigation. There is no issue of priority. Those are subjective statements. Bommai gave a statement. C.T Ravi gave a statement. There is no consistency within the statements. They say there is no development taking place and then point to their own deeds. The government hasn’t forgotten development. We are doing what is required for the people. The guarantee schemes are continuing. It has not stopped,” Parameshwara said.
