Here are 10 reasons why Darshan’s judicial custody was extended

The 17 suspects in the case pertaining to the murder of Renukaswamy including the Sandalwood actor Darshan also referred to as the Challenging Star will have aspirations to make their way out of jail. This aspiration has however been hit with a setback. 

The 17 suspects are faced with a looming threat. The suspects were produced before a judge through video conferencing from their respective cells in Bengaluru and Tumakuru.

Pavithra has separately presented herself in front of the court. Their judicial custody has been extended until July 18th. SPP Prasanna Kumar sought for this extension through a remand application. 

Here are 10 reasons on the basis of which the judicial custody was extended. 

  1. The nature of the case is sensitive. Some of the suspects have previously been involved in illegal activities. 
  2. There was an attempt to destroy evidence by the suspects
  3. There is scope for further investigation on the basis of evidence collected thus far 
  4. More details are to be uncovered about the individual role of each suspect 
  5. Rs 85.65 lakh has been seized. The source and recipient of the cash are to be identified. 
  6. The bailiff is to conduct procedures to establish the identity of the suspects  
  7. The vehicle used for the crime remains to be examined. The vehicle owner remains to be interrogated
  8. The FSL report of the retrieval of data from the mobiles of the suspects is awaited
  9. The interrogation of people contacted by the suspects before and after the crime remains to be conducted
  10. Some of the suspects have used sim cards belonging to others. The interrogation of the owners of the sim cards remains to be conducted
