Forbes India’s annual ranking of the 100 wealthiest individuals in the country reveals that Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries, has once again secured the leading position.
This year, he outpaced last year’s richest Indian, Gautam Adani, who now stands at the second spot. The combined wealth of India’s top 100 affluent individuals amounts to an impressive $799 billion, as reported by the Forbes India magazine.
For the current year, Forbes magazine approximates Mukesh Ambani’s net worth at $92 billion (equivalent to approximately ₹7.6 lakh crore).
On the other hand, Gautam Adani, who had surpassed Ambani in wealth last year, saw a significant dip in his net worth, plummeting by a staggering $82 billion to $68 billion. This drop is attributed to the Hindenburg report, which raised concerns about financial improprieties and stock manipulation within the Adani conglomerate.
Shiv Nadar made remarkable strides this year in terms of list rankings, moving up two places to reclaim the third position with a fortune valued at $29.3 billion (approximately ₹2.4 lakh crore).
