Sapthami provided menstrual cups to the female contestants
In the Bigg Boss Kannada season 10 episode that featured on December 30th, an awareness program in association with the Health Department of the Government of Karnataka. The initiative by the Health Department Is titled “Suchi: Nanna Maitri-Muttina Cup (Hygiene: My ally-Menstrual cup). Sapthami Gowda of “Kantara” fame was the beans ambassador for this initiative.
Sapthami Gowda explained to the contestants and the audience of the program that 80% of women across Karnataka are already using menstrual cups. This initiative aims for a transition from menstrual pads to menstrual cups. She also provided menstrual cups to the female contestants on the sets of Bigg Boss.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundu Rao threw light on the campaign and this method of providing limelight to it. “It is admirable that a famous reality show has been used for the awareness campaign “Suchi: Nanna Maitri: Muttina Cup. I would like to thank Colors Kannada for taking the initiative to spread awareness about the preemptive steps to be taken by women in light of their menstrual cycle. I would also like to thank Sapthami Gowda for being the Brand Ambassador for this initiative and anchoring the campaign,” he stated on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
