The Hosakerehalli lake is on the brink of a disaster. The beauty of the lake has been damaged by miscreants. Their actions have not just deteriorated the quality of the lake but of the aquatic life as well. Blood-soaked gloves used for a caesarian operation have been found around the lake. Bottles containing blood and urine samples were also identified. It is being reported that the medical diagnostic centres located closeby might be responsible for dumping the waste. Expired cosmetics have been burnt.
This has had negative consequences on those residing nearby. Water from the drainage was also released into the lake. The stench is making commuting around the lake. This has supposedly been brought to the notice of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) but no action has been taken.
Speaking to NewsFirst some of the citizens expressed their concern. “There is a hand of influential people in this conundrum. Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) are involved,” a citizen said. “The rest of the city is developing but this region has been left behind,” another person expressed.
