Only a few days are left for the inauguration of the Ram Mandir. The inauguration has been scheduled for 22nd January. Several people who claim to have devotion for Lord Ram are eagerly awaiting this occasion. 

Amidst this, a man from the Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh has made news. Charla Srinivas Shastri has decided to embark on a journey to Ayodhya by foot. Srinivas would also present Golden footwear as offerings to Lord Ram. Srinuivas would handover the two golden footwear, each weighing 12.5 kg to the Chief Minister of UttarTh Pradesh Yogi Adityanath. Of the 12.5 kg, 8 kg is of gold and 4.5 kg is of silver. 

Shastri would carry the golden footwear on his head while enroute Ayodhya. The distance he will cover for his journey is 1300 kilometres. It is estimated that he might reach Ayodhya by January 13th. Srinivs will make a request to dedicate the footwear on the occasion of inauguration in the temple. 

The footwear holds significance among devotees as Ram’s brother Bharat placed the slippers on the throne during Ram’s 13 years of exile as a mark of respect when he was handed the responsibility of governing the kingdom.
