New Features and Camera Enhancements

Apple is rumoured to introduce a new Capture button across all iPhone 16 models, designed to enhance the camera experience by functioning like a digital camera’s shutter button. Additionally, the Action Button from the iPhone 15 Pro models is expected to be extended to the standard iPhone 16 models, replacing the traditional Mute switch.

In the camera department, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus might retain the 48MP primary sensor but are expected to receive an upgraded ultrawide sensor with a faster aperture for improved low-light photography. The standard models may also shift to a vertical camera layout, potentially supporting spatial video recording. The Pro models are expected to feature a triple-camera setup, with possible upgrades including 5x optical zoom and a 48MP ultrawide sensor capable of capturing ProRAW photos. Apple is also rumoured to introduce the JPEG-XL photo format, promising enhanced image quality with efficient file sizes.
